CNMC has fined the Bar of Guadalajara (30,000 euros) and the General Council of Spanish Lawyers (59,983 euros) to declare proven the existence of a violation of Article 1 of Law 16/1989, of July 17, and Article 1 of Law 15/2007 of 3 July, on Competition. The February 25, 2014, after a confidential report, disciplinary proceedings against the Bar Association of Guadalajara was initiated on the grounds that would establish certain restrictive conditions to competition lawyers to provide services of legal aid in the province from Guadalajara. In September 2014, the opening extended CNMC General Bar Council to understand that the Council would be making a recommendation to the Bar Associations, consisting of setting certain requirements to participate in the provision of services related to legal aid.
