The Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy, announced in Congress, during the celebration of the Debate on the State of the Nation, the approval of a flat fee of 100 euros for the permanent hiring of new workers. The reduction applies from today, 25 February.

The reduction will save the employer of 75% of the contribution for common contingencies, which are limited to 100 euros a month (1,200 per year) environment. This measure, applied at an average annual gross salary of 20,000 euros, implies that the employer 3,520 euros a year for contributions to Social Security for each new job created is saved.

Maintain employment

The employer must maintain employment during the period of application of the reduction, because it is a boost to net job creation.

In turn, there will be able to make collective redundancies or individual dismissals that are declared inadmissible in the six months prior to the conclusion of new contracts and should be aware of their tax obligations and Social Security.

The regulation does not affect the contribution of the worker or the business input for other contingencies (unemployment, FOGASA and Vocational Training), for which the rules already in force contribution apply. Nor will impact the amount of economic benefits to which workers may be entitled, calculated by applying the full amount of the contribution base.

Reform of vocational training and employment portal Single

The Prime Minister also announced a comprehensive reform of the model of professional training for employment, in order to respond effectively to the real needs of the productive sector and enhancing the training of workers form.

The new model, reformed under the social dialogue with the social partners, will be governed by the principles of transparency and free competition. The system will be subject to an ongoing evaluation of the results to ensure that it meets its objectives to promote the access, maintenance and re-employment. So it will develop an essential role in the new Strategy for Employment Activation.

Furthermore, in the field of mediation, the Strategy for Employment Activation feature innovative instruments such as the Framework Agreement for cooperation with private employment agencies or the Single Employment Portal will be launched in collaboration with the Autonomous Communities April.
